support
KeymasterHi, All.
So, which features do YOU want to see in the next version of WinCDEmu?
Planned so far:1. Option to remember mounted drivers after restart
2. Batchmnt should have a flag to use portable driver
3. Unattended uninstallAny other suggestions?

ParticipantAn idea for a new features
Using software that creates DVD video burning them directly onto the media (Windows DVD Maker), but not always burn is successful, so my idea is: if WinCDEmu allow you to create a virtual burner that creates a virtual DVD on your hard disk , for example via a crafted image of type *. ISO, I could tell the software to burn through the virtual burner, they can then check the result without having to risk every time you throw a physical DVD.
Thanks, for all anyway!

KeymasterThe problem is that creating a “Virtual CD/DVD burner” is somewhat around 5x complexity of WinCDEmu. So, unless there are volunteers to implement it, I would recommend other ways of “burn-testing”.
BTW, as far as I remember, some CD burning programs can actually create ISO images. Should be the same effect, more or less.May 18, 2011 at 18:28 #1652Anonymous
ParticipantThe ability to create persistent mounts is already great, and I will now use v 3.5 for running all my daugters games that require a plethora of CD-ROMs.
However, a command line mode would be great also, someting like:
pathmyiso.iso /drive
I suppose the Win7 UAC can me trained to not respond to this event?

KeymasterYou can use the batchmnt.exe if you need a command-line interface

ParticipantHi
OK, I was not even aware that batchmnt.exe could do this – we are testing v 3.4 currently. So how should it be applied? Something like …
“batchmnt.exe pathmyiso.iso /drive”
“mygame_on_iso.exe” or whatever
“batchmnt.exe drive /unmount”Sorry, the computer with CDEmu installed is in the room where my daughter is now sleeping ๐

ParticipantIs there a way to suppress the sound that windows makes when a new device is (dis)connected ?
It’s somewhat distracting.

Participantadding support for SafeDisc v2 protection decoder. for an instance” Hitman: Code name 47″ is playable by deamon tools but not playable by wincdemu.

KeymasterOK. The point about the “protection decoders” is that unless you are a company with a legal department ready to defend you in court, you don’t mess with them.
So, keeping WinCDEmu free and open-source tool means no “protection hacking” tricks.June 8, 2011 at 22:23 #1657arsham
ParticipantNew feature would be a great addition. to emulate Securom, SafeDisc discs, from images. that would rise the software’s popularity and erase Daemon tools from the earth’s surface. lol
