    ok, solved by upgrade the GDB to 7.6

    seen your(visualGDB) blog post about “Win32 toolchain for building Raspberry PI” and got how to check the gdb building with xxx-uknown-linux-gnu, and use that xxx value to configure gdb, and that worked to compiling!

    everything ok now( except each build will report deploy error in VS, and that only occur this PC, and I think it would be VS compatible problem :D, I need to cancel deploy VisualGDB project and debug!)

    btw, that Version of old GDB is 7.1-18, if you’d like to check compatible 😀

    SmarTTY support remote GUI application (such as Gedit) through xming. but it seems VisualGDB should configure it through tools config, and it is NOT installed by default. 😯 (don’t know why)

    I installed SmarTTY standalone( there’s another MSI package without limitation, before I use VisualGDB 😀 ), and that worked fine with Xming(which is default installed and been auto configured), hope this helps, or wait admin to answer 😉

    I tried that but failed, cuz the building process can not be finished, the bfd complained something error, do not know the xxx cpu,
    the linux is a old-fedora-like private one under unknown architecture, the VisualGDB passing it seems as alphav6 unknown linux gnu, oh, even i attached configure with
    –build with uknown linux gnu, it still failed (I could be success other linux src code complilation by using that unknown configure, though … )

    btw, I had build gdb on my x86 linux in virtual machine, with latest gdb 7.6, VisualGDB worked very good.

    I had same problem and solved this issue through below modify.
    (Win7 Pro x64/VS2008/WDK7.1)

    1. Check Boot.int of Target PC ( Open C:Boot.ini with NOTEPAD )-> Unreadable Charater (Delete it).

    C:Boot.ini
    [boot loader]
    timeout=30
    default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)WINDOWS

    [operating systems]
    multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)WINDOWS=”Microsoft Windows XP Professional [VirtualKD]” /DEBUG /DEBUGPORT=bazis /fastdetect /noexecute=optin

    2. Run VS2008 with Administration Privilege (Windows Vista ~ Windows 7). –> Development PC(Host)

    3. Check Firewall Setting.–>Target PC.

    😐

    Yes, version 4.0 fixed info target, but it sometimes blocked ‘ info shared ‘ or even something not very common condition( like line xxx ), but if I click ping, it still worked OK,
    this condition only show in my working linux( I have no previllige to upgrade the gdb to 7.6, that is an old GDB 7.2 or 7.3 ), I can not reproduced in GDB 7.4 or later.

    Ok! So fast you are, it is confirmed that the bug is fixed in beta3 ^^, and configuration “Default file masks for source transer” also worked .

    RE submit with Image fixed (should be ;D)

    1. open empty visual studio, that’s a test machine without any other component installed, and from menu Tools – pickup ‘SSH Host Manager’.

    2. Then From SSH Connection Manager, Open my test host (pre-configured), that host is a Linux X86, Click ‘Open console’.

    3. goto menu SCP – Download a File, then Click browser File Btn, … the dialog won’t show up and I have to kill this SSH (luckily no needs to shut down the VS).

    4. In fast, Any Button to open Local File Browser Dialog will die here(prompt that NO response), OK, I think is it related with my region, not in english?

    *. BTW, my personal suggestion, the *.hpp or *.cxx is often used in C++ programming, such as boost, and could it be the default ones during Sync? I have a lil trouble when I first synchronizing source files remote ;D.

    A hint:
    Uninstall that version and use the portable version of WinCDEmu. The development of this software pratically is stopped…

    Just use the portable version, less problem. As you can see, noone resolve the “bug” because the project is pratically died
