I can’t seem to get this installed on Windows 7 RC.
After running the setup program, I’m brought to the testsigning mode window where I’m given 3 choices:
YES – Enable it.
NO – Goes to the webpage and closes the installation program
CANCEL – Abort the installationIf I click, YES, it enables it, closes the setup program, and I’m given a choice to restart my computer.
If I say yes, my computer restarts.I assume testsigning mode is enabled at this point.
Normally, if a setup program restarts my computer as a part of installing a program, it would pick up where it left off and run itself on startup next time and continue the installation, but nothing happens here – I’m just brought to my normal desktop.
If I run the setup again, I’m brought to the same testsigning mode window but it’s already (supposed to be) enabled and I have no way of continuing with the installation.
If I select NO or CANCEL, setup closes.
If I choose YES, I can either restart my comp or not – but setup still closes.
So there is no way to move forward without setup closing.
I’ve tried enabling it manually using the instructions on the webpage, but get the same result.
Am I missing something?
July 5, 2009 at 18:37 #1078supportKeymasterCan you please open regedit.exe, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESystemCurrentControlSetControl, see the value of the “SystemStartOptions” parameter and post it here? Also, does the BCDEDIT report any error when you enable TESTSIGNING manually?
July 6, 2009 at 02:45 #1079AnonymousParticipantSystemStartOptions:
TESTSIGNING NOEXECUTE=OPTINBCDEDIT says the operation completed successfully when enabling manually
July 6, 2009 at 04:11 #1080AnonymousParticipantI knew it.
This 2nd impression.
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=117#p1631. You need press F8 key whilst boots and selecting the “Disable Driver Signature Enforcement” boot option just for install.
2. Install WinCDEmu 2.3 to the WIn7 64Bit, and press YES button when testsigning mode window.
3. Copy C:Program FilesWinCDEmux64*.sys to C:WINNTSystem32drivers.
4. ReBOOT your computer, then WinCDEmu will run with no F8 key.July 6, 2009 at 05:30 #1081AnonymousParticipantAppreciate the help, but unfortunately this isn’t working in my case…
After disabling Driver Signature Enforcement on bootup, the same thing happens:
When I install the app, I chose YES at testsigning but then it only gives me the choice of restarting the computer – no files are written, so I can’t continue with step 3 (the WinCDEmu folder doesn’t exist).
July 6, 2009 at 07:24 #1082supportKeymasterCould you please try this version:
http://wincdemu.sysprogs.org/win7fix/WinCDEmu-2.3-Win7.exeJuly 6, 2009 at 13:48 #1083AnonymousParticipantLink is dead for me at the moment.
Will keep trying it periodically.
July 6, 2009 at 14:10 #1084supportKeymasterSorry, mistyped the link. Here is the correct one: http://wincdemu.sysprogs.org/win7fix/WinCDEmu-2.3-Win7.exe
July 6, 2009 at 14:39 #1085AnonymousParticipantThank you, it worked like a charm!
There were 2 driver alerts when installing (told it to continue anyway) and another when I mounted the first ISO that said:
Cannot find C:Windowssystem32DriversBazisVirtualCD.sys. Update WinCDEmu driver?
I selected, YES and it has been working fine ever since.
My computer was powered down last night and I’m not sure if any of the experimentation I did last night with Testsigning or Disabling Driver Signature Enforcement affected the install today.

August 27, 2009 at 14:41 #1087supportKeymasterWindows Vista indicates testsigning mode by /TESTSIGNING boot option. Win7 – just by TESTSIGNING (without slash). The original installer did not consider it.
September 25, 2009 at 20:04 #1088krisParticipantHi,
I installed the WinCDEmu-2.3-Win7.exe. It installed as a x86 program on my Windows7 (64 bit RTM).
After install, I could mount an iso image, but while mounting, it reported: “Cannot find c:WIndowssystem32DriversBazisVirtualCD.sys”. But it mounted nevertheless. I could also see the files on the virtual CD.
I then turned on the “TESTSIGNING” and rebooted. (So now test mode is off).
When I try to mount an iso file it is giving me the following error: “Cannot connect to virtual bus!”.– Can the WinCDEmu install as a 64 bit?
– Should I leave the TESTSIGNING off?
– Are there any sys files to be copied manually?Any suggestions?
Thx
KrisOctober 29, 2009 at 01:11 #1089supportKeymasterTestsigning should be always on. Otherwise, only drivers signed by MS partners can be loaded. As for the missing file, could you please see the name of the executable, that reports “cannot find driver”? It can be done in the task manager by selecting the task and clicking “go to process”. It should be 64-bit vmnt64.exe. The BazisVirtualCD.sys driver should be also present in SYSTEM32DRIVERS.

I just installed WinCDEmu-2.3-Win7.exe on my Windows 7 Ultimate machine, but can’t tell if it worked. I see no entry in Device Manager. Do I need to do something to set up the program after Restart?
November 4, 2009 at 17:33 #1091AnonymousParticipantThanks for the link. In my case (Win 7 Ultimate 64bit) it works perfect. 2 warnings about drivers but it is installed perfect. When I furst run the progam it said a certain driver is not found and ask me to update it. I clicked yes en voila… everything worked!!
thanks and keep up the good work!
