    Hi.

I have just installed WinCDemu on my laptop with Win7 (never tested before), and somethings has gone wrong. My desktop wallpaper now has a text which says: “Modo de pruebas. Windows 7. Compilación 7600” (spanish version of WIn7), and all my icons has gone. Whatever I do on the desktop: make new folder, copy a file to desktop… the icons doesn’t show themselves. I can get into them if I use file explorer and look for “user/Desktop”, but this is very annoying as I use a lot the Desktop to work with files.

Any idea? I have tried to unninstal WinCDemu but nothing happens.

Installing WinCDEmu has enabled the “testsigning” mode (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd419910.aspx). Without this mode, Windows 7 cannot load unsigned drivers (signing is not free). You can read more about testsigning (including how to disable it) here: http://www.sysprogs.org/signing/

    Hi!

I have done what the “bcecedit -set …” and the text on the right bottom has gone, but the desktop icons still aren’t visible. I got that bug on Win7 RC, but never knew how to solve it. Now I know what was the cause o the problem but still need help to solve it.

    Any more ideas?

Thanks for your help, I appreciate it a lot.

No idea, but you can google for something like “windows 7 testsigning desktop icons disappeared”. It is not specific to WinCDEmu.
