when creating a new project using the VisualDDk wizard. if i chose to leave the “add support for x64 target” option checked, the operation fails to complete the creation of a solution and i get a message box with the following error.
    Platform x64 was not found.

i am running vs 2008 on a AMD dual core machine windows 7 x64 ultimate.
I have installed the Windows debugging tools x64 and x86 i have also installed the 7.6 (latest build) version of WDK x64.
I am new to driver development and am not really sure what the wizard is looking for when the x64 options is turned on nor do i know what it does to the configuration to support an x64 target.

    support
    Keymaster

Which OS version did you select in the wizard? Maybe, the selected OS does not have support for x64 target? Try selecting the latest one (Windows 7).
