    I have tried to implement the change you suggested in your entry for September 26, 2013 entry:
    <pre class=”entry-title”>FIXING -RPATH-LINK ISSUES WITH CROSS-COMPILERS
    I made a file in what seems to be the sysroot folder in a subdirectory etc with a name ld.so.conf.  In the file I added all of the lines from the .conf files in the directory /etc/ld.so.conf.d.

    I must have done something wrong because the result is the same.  Do I need to tell ld to look for this file?
