Hi, I am new to developing linux so I follow strictly the steps mentioned in http://visualgdb.com/tutorials/linux/

I have 2 PC (one windows and one ubuntu) both connected to the same network.

At the step to Create a New SSH Connection, when I click on “Create” below error message occurs and I could not proceed any further.

“Cannot connect: The requested name is valid, but no data of the requested type was found”

Please advise me what am I missing….

    Thanks…

    Hi,

This cryptic message actually comes from Windows and means that the host name you specified cannot be found. Please try stopping your DNS cache service (net stop dnscache) or specify the IP address directly.

    Hi.

I removed a once craeted SSH connection. Now I want to create again.

This is not possible. It seems VisualGDB stores some information which I couldnot see !???

Are you getting the same error as mentioned in the original message? If yes, it can be caused by the Windows DNS cache and stopping the “dnscache” service might help.
