    Hi,
I am using VisualGDB 6.1r3 with a SysGCC toolchain (14.2.0 64-bit) for Raspberry Pi OS Trixie (aarch64) and Qt6.

    Qt6 configuration fails with:
CMake 3.16 or higher is required. You are running version 3.15.2

    VisualGDB is using:
    C:\Users\tchud\AppData\Local\VisualGDB\CMake\bin\cmake.exe
    and: cmake version 3.15.2

What is the recommended way to use Qt6 from Raspberry Pi OS Trixie, which requires CMake >= 3.16, with VisualGDB/SysGCC?

Is there a newer CMake build with Sysprogs Extensions, or is it possible to use the standard CMake 4.x with this type of project?

    Thanks.

    Hi,

Sure, you can change the CMake executable via VisualGDB Project Properties -> CMake Settings -> CMake command. You may need to clear the Tools->Options->VisualGDB->CMake->Use pre-built CMake for Local Builds setting if it does not override.

The Sysprogs extensions are mostly needed for the legacy CMake debugger, but the latest CMake supports debugging via the DAP protocol, and VisualGDB is going to support it in the next release as well, so there won’t be any need for the special CMake fork.

Update: you can try this build: VisualGDB-6.2.0.5630.msi. It supports the DAP-based CMake debugging, works out-of-the-box with CMake 4.x, and no longer suggests downloading the special fork.
