Settings file path not specified

Using the trial version 5.6r8 on Windows 10 Enterprise 21H2 and Visual Studio Professional 15.9.34 I ran into an error(?) where VisualGDB told me that the “Settings path is not specified”. This happens after attaching the debugger to a process on an Oracle Linux 8.4 machine and helping it find missing source files. I’m not using a VisualGDB project, I just attach the debugger. I’ve searched a bit but couldn’t find anything concerning a settings path. So where does it go, what should it contain and how do I configure it? Is it even relevant?

No problem, we will try to help you. Please try clicking the “show exception details” link and share the stack trace shown, there as long with the VisualGDB build number from the Help->About VisualGDB window.
