    Hello, I am a student from NHTV and I am trying to connect to my RPI using SSH. I have enabled SSH on m RPI and am using a ethernet cable going from my laptop into my RPI. When attempting to connect I get the following error: LIBSSH2_ERROR_SOCKET_NONE. When hovering over my internet icon on the taskbar I see the following hostname: “169.254.169.235/16” on  eth0. I have NOT set up a bridged connection on my laptop from my wifi to my ethernet (My teacher said this was not necessary).

    Hi,

    Most likely some of the network parameters (IP address, subnet mask, gateway, etc) is not configured properly. Please refer to your University documentation on network configuration and connectivity to figure out correct IP addresses and network configuration.
