    Hi

Just a heads up; I have just solved some problems I was having with WinCDEmu by uninstalling the ESET Endpoint Antivirus product.

    OS: Windows 7 Pro x64

Problems: WinCDEmu 3.6 would install properly, then have problems mounting ISOs. The dialog about drive letter would appear, the virtual CD drive would appear in explorer, but the image was never mounted in the drive. Explorer would hang if I tried to access the drive (and for some reason, Google Chrome would also hang?!). I also had problems uninstalling WinCDEmu (had to do it in safe mode). The portable version (3.4) worked fine.

Solution: After reading about the problem with GearASPIWdm, I checked the upperfilters registry key and noticed an entry for “edevmon”, which turns out to be part of the ESET antivirus download filter. After uninstalling ESET, I had no more problems with WinCDEmu.

I would like to find another workaround or solution, as I need to reinstall my antivirus, and I would prefer not to use the portable version of WinCDEmu.

    Thanks

    Mark
