File Type Blocked

Using an NRG file that I downloaded that Daemon Tools on the same computer mounted fine, WinCDEmu throws that the file type saved or requested has been blocked. I reinstalled my OS, and had the same result. I love this tool and it’s simplicity, but if it’s going to do things like this I might have to wait until the issues have been cleared up to switch to it.

I have the same problem. Strage thing is that if I change the extension to .iso it will mount fine!

I’m having similar problems. I’m running WinCDemu on Windows Vista Homer Premium 32bit. I can mount .ISO images normally but I get the file type blocked message when I try to mount .IMG floppy images. I haven’t tried to rename any of the disk images. Any Idea how to make this work? Great Program otherwise.

Do you have a NRG or similar image mistakingly renamed to IMG? This is what usually causes that type of error. Can you upload the faulty image somewhere and post the link, so I could investigate?

Sure, the images I’m having trouble with are freeDOS and Minuet OS. I haven’t had a chance to do more tests than that.
