    Steps to Reproduce:

    1) Create a new Embedded Project

    2) Click “Next” on the “New Embedded Project” page.

    3) Select the nRF52832 from the device list.

    4) On the Sample Selection, choose “Nordic SDK Samples” and then select any one.  I selected BLE_APP_BLINK_C_PCA10040_S132.

    5) Click Next and then use the defaults for the Debug Method selection.

    6) Right click on the newly created project in Solution Explorer and open VisualGDB Project Properties.

    7) Click on “Convert to a stand-alone project” and then click OK to (supposedly) move all of the BSP files to the local directory.

    8) Click “OK”  to exit the VisualGDB Project Properties.

Now unload the project (Right click the project in Solution Explorer and select “Unload Project”) and open the vcxproj file for editing.  You will notice that the vast majority of the Include directives still reference the original BSP Folder!

This is my vcxproj file after converting a Nordic SDK example to standalone.

You can clearly see there are many references to the original BSP folder.

Thanks for the very detailed description and repro steps.

Unfortunately, this is a known limitation of VisualGDB. The “Nordic BSP Samples” are automatically converted from the samples included in the Nordic SDK and hence do not follow the regular embedded framework layout used by VisualGDB and would require manual adjustments after conversion to a stand-alone project.

As a workaround, please try creating a project based on the regular VisualGDB-supplied samples that are fully compatible with the stand-alone project format.
