A long time ago I downloaded the disc image of Warcraft: Beyond the Dark Portal, a bin file. I mounted it with WinCDEmu on a virtual drive created for this purpose. I don’t remember what exactly happened when I decided to remove the image, but I have been stuck with that file ever since. I don’t play the game, I don’t have it installed, but its disc image has been taking up space for years. Now I have deleted all of the virtual drives and uninstalled WinCDEmu to deal with this, but Windows still says that “The file is open in System.” In fact, there is no running process drawing on that file, yet something must have lingered. What can I do?
