    I need to use Alt+ in a Linux terminal session. Unfortunately, SmartTTY interpets Alt key as menu request and does not pass it to Linux session.
    How can I configure SmartTTY to pass Alt+
    to SSH session?

    Bump!
    The missing alt-mapping is a deal breaker for me. I will have to go back to using mtputty which I don’t like.

    @aldep
    If you know any other ssh clients with a tabbed interface (and working alt-mappings) please share.

    The same situation for me. Alt is a deal-breaker and I went back to mtputty.
    I tried other interfaces, but liked them less than this one and mtputty.

    Thanks for your answser. What bugs me most about mtputty is that it breaks the alt+tab cycling in windows. Well, looks like I’ll stick to mputty for a while longer.

    Just tried smarttty – and had same issue (switching between channels in irssi using Alt doesn’t work), and atm this issue makes smarttty unusable for me.

    SSH users usually don’t need to access the menu while they use terminal, so maybe add an option to hide it (just like settings dialog is ‘hidden’ in putty) or to just disable the Alt hotkey ?
