Hi,

when I try to install the esp8266 toolchain, i get the following error:

Downloading http://cdn.sysprogs.com/gnutoolchains/esp8266/esp8266-gcc5.2.0-r16.exe using 5 parallel threads…
Cannot update esp8266: Access is denied.

I’m running W10 and installing to C:\SysGCC\…

Pse help.

Hi,

Please check that you actually have write access to the location where you are trying to install it and that your antivirus is not blocking the toolchain installer. If nothing helps, please try downloading it manually from http://gnutoolchains.com/esp8266/ and run the installer in the interactive mode.

Hi,

I tried that, but it also gives me an “Access denied”.

Also to mention that the tool versions displayed differ from the ones on your webpage.

Hi have some problem when updated to last version of ESP8266, I also tried to install directly (esp8266-gcc5.2.0-r16.exe) with same result. If I reinstall the previous version there is no problem. Checked with W7 64 bits in 2 differents PC with administrator rights

Hi,

Sorry about that. It was indeed a bug on our side triggered by a switch to the MinGW2-based environment. We have fixed it and released an updated R17 toolchain.
