Importing projects from Atollic TrueStudio

    Hi,

    Since ST bought Atollic TrueStudio in end of 2017 and it became free, it would be very nice to see that VisualGDB could open Atollic TrueStudio projects or import them. There are a few features which is better in Atollic, a few which is better in Visual GDB – depends on who like Eclipse, who like Visual Studio. I would suggest to try implement everything from TrueStudio which is possible to Visual GDB.

    What dou you think about it?

    Hi,

    Thanks for the suggestion. We will monitor the future development of the TrueStudio and will consider importing projects from it if ST keeps on maintaining and supporting it.

    Did you plan to implement this feature in final 5.4? If yes, our team would use sometime atollic, sometime visual gdb.

    Hi,

    Sorry, this is not scheduled for any specific release yet. The best workaround currently would be to try creating a basic importer based on the other open-source importers we provide: https://github.com/sysprogs/BSPTools/tree/master/ProjectImporters

    Once we will add an official importer for TrueStudio, we will publish its sources in the same repository and will update this thread.
