So, the Windows 10 Anniversary Update includes the ability to run linux usermode programs on Windows. This means we can run gcc and gdb direct on the Windows box. Supposedly if we run Xming we can even run X apps too.
Has anyone tried using VisualGDB to connect to the local linux system to do debugging? I don’t think the local system runs an SSH server by default…
Yes, we have investigated this. We will be adding a separate wizard option to create projects for the Win10 Linux subsystem in the final v5.2. We would expect to release it in the next 2-3 weeks.
