USB Mouse Captured in VM

I have been successful in having the VM capture the host’s USB mouse, however, the cursor stays in one postion on the screen, and does not move. I know the mouse is tracking around the screen, because I can actually push buttons (i.e. if I wave the mouse around, it eventually hits something). The cursor itself will change form, from pointer to arrow, etc,. but it stays in one spot within the VM. Anybody else experience this “feature”? Thanks
