If I use kernel-mode connections it doesn’t matter what I put for a qualifier. I always get an error dialog that says “Unable to connect to ‘qualifier’. One of hte library files needed to run this application cannot be found”. I have the x86 and x64 versions of debugging tools installed. Not sure if this is the issue or how to configure VisualDDK about where to look.
I was able to fix this by searchign through the registry for Visual DDK. It had a bad path to the debugger install. However, why isn’t there a way to fix the config from the GUI? I remember the dialog appearing, but it only appeared once and I could not find it. Plus, upon uninstall, the bad settings were still in the registry.
Also, now that it does work, it just hangs Visual Studio. Responsiveness is very very slow.
I am having a similar problem, please help if you figured this out. I am using IEEE 1394. Host machine is running XP, target machine is running Win 7.
Attach to process fails when using 1394://channel_num where channel_num is set to what i configured in the target BCD. I am able to connect to the target machine running WinDbg using the same config though. Any ideas?
