    Hi,

Does Visual GDB support the Sipeed Risc V (RV) USB-JTAG/TTL Debugger ?

    Sipeed USB-JTAG/TTL RISC-V Debugger (ST-Link V2 STM8/STM32 Simulator) – Seeed Studio

When creating a new project following this page instructions…

Debugging Kendryte K210 Projects with Visual Studio – VisualGDB Tutorials

It doesnt appear when I plug it in in the “Debug Using tab” for Debug Method

    <See attachment 1.png> – Inserting pictures isn’t working

The Sipped RV USB debugger appears in Device Manager like this ( maybe I have the wrong drivers – I played about with Zadig earlier – so its possible)

    <See attachment 2.png> – Inserting pictures isn’t working

Do I need to use J-Link with any Maix device ?

I am trying to get one of the Maix RISC V products working in VisualGDB. Either the Maix Dock, Dock II, Bit, Longan, Maxduino etc

I want to use the K210 with the kendryte standalone SDK, I can debug on platformio with both the USB  Debugger, or with a J-link, on both the Maix Doc or Maix Bit, but i want an all in one solution OOB that works.

    Thanks

    Marcus

When I select USB as a debug device I can see the fly swatter, I wander can those settings be used for the Sipeed USB RV debug probe ?

    Hi,

This is something to check with Kendryte or Sipeed. VisualGDB uses the OpenOCD port maintained by Kendryte to debug the K210 device, so if it supports this probe, VisualGDB will work with it as well.

If you can confirm that running OpenOCD manually works, we can help you edit the .xml files used by VisualGDB so that it will detect the probe and will show it in the GUI the same way it does it for other supported probes.

When you select Segger J-Link instead of OpenOCD, you are switching to the J-Link debug software – a tool maintained by Segger that allows interfacing gdb to the J-Link. Please check with Segger whether they have any plans for supporting the K210 device – this is completely up to them and is outside our control.
